I am using Invisalign, and this is what my doctor did. I should have asked before he did it, but I was not thinking straight at the time.

Okay so I have Invisalign and for those who don’t know, my orthodontists switches out the aligners every month. This month I wasn’t too good on wearing them, as I had accidently left them at my boyfriends house and couldn’t get them back for a while, so I wore the aligners for about 2 weeks out of the 4 that I was supposed to.
I got my new set of aligners today and they were really tight. I’ve been good about wearing them and have worn them for about 12 hours today. I keep taking tylenol extra strength but it doesn’t seem to be helping and when I take them out to eat, I am able to wiggle my teeth a bit. I know it’s normal for my teeth to be loose while I get the new set in but it’s pretty painful and I need some reassurance that it’s normal and my teeth aren’t going to fall out.
I know some friends who say their orthodontists have tightened their braces fast and so I try to tell myself that my mouth can handle it, and that it’s a little more painful because I didn’t wear my other ones as long as I was supposed to.
So yeah, I just need to know that I’m not going to mess up my mouth, and trust me I have learned my leson! It feels like there’s a giant toothache and it’s times by 3 (:

I am doing research regarding coming a orthodontist. I am trying to figure out what exactly they do on a day to day basis and what kind of certificates or degrees do they need to get. Also what is the interpersonal relationships of the office and how would one go about achieving professional socialization to fit in to the office.

does great west life insurance cover invisalign? it covers orthodontics, but does invisalign count?

Has anyone had invisalign braces? I’m 24 and my teeth have started to push forward causing the front ones to start to push backwards. My dentist suggested traditional braces but I’ve just read about invasalign that a few local orthodontists can fit.
Has anyone tried them and how much did it cost?

Hi all,
I went to an orthodontist a few years back, and while I don’t recall how much they were charging me, they did mention that the gap in my teeth that I wanted fixed, would also need a minor surgery in my mouth in order to move a muscle that is between my teeth.
What is this procedure called, what type of doctor does it, and how much would it run to have taken care of? I have put aside money in my flexible spending account to cover the cost of Invisalign braces, but I will also need to take care of this as well. I would appreciate any information you can give me.

I’m 14 and I have terrible overbite. I had metal braces for all throughout middle school but my orthodontist was an absolute idiot (I’m not kidding, even my current dentist thinks so) and all he did was suck out all our money and give me a jaw condition called TMJ.
Now I have to put braces back on and I don’t want to wear those terrible metal braces again, especially not entering sophmore year. Are there any cosmetic alternatives for someone with severe overbite? I really like invisalign but it’s only for those with mild overbite.
I’m seeing an orthodontist in a week but I would like some input before then.

I had my consultation at an orthodontist this past week, and the plan is to put regular braces on the bottom teeth, and maybe invisalign or maybe regular braces on the top teeth. It is not bad like a lot of spacing or torqued teeth, just crowded. And I am an adult. They told me cost for adult is between $6000-$7000 – it would come out around $6300. I was prepared to hear maybe $4000, but was shocked at this price. Anybody have experience with same situation and can advise me about this price? Thanks!

I am 5 months into my Invisalign treatment and I need to move to another state. I pay the orthodontist in monthly payments out of my own pocket without the aid of insurance. I would think this would be easy, cause the ortho doesn’t really do anything other than look at them and give me new aligners. But if I do get transfered, would I have to finish paying the ortho I have now in full, and then when I get a new ortho would I have to pay him in full also? If anyone has been through this or knows anything about this, I would really appriciate it!

my family have a “MANAGED CARE PLANS”
My father’s work place has given him a dental insurance for 30 dollars per month for my entire family.
I went to the insurance website it says orthodontics 1250 co pay. I am sure the treatment is for 3 years. If my father cancels dental insurance or my father moves to an another job place what happens to my orthodontics treatment does it affects my treatment or do I have to pay any extra?????
