Any Cosmetic Alternatives To Braces For Someone With Bad Overbite?
I’m 14 and I have terrible overbite. I had metal braces for all throughout middle school but my orthodontist was an absolute idiot (I’m not kidding, even my current dentist thinks so) and all he did was suck out all our money and give me a jaw condition called TMJ.
Now I have to put braces back on and I don’t want to wear those terrible metal braces again, especially not entering sophmore year. Are there any cosmetic alternatives for someone with severe overbite? I really like invisalign but it’s only for those with mild overbite.
I’m seeing an orthodontist in a week but I would like some input before then.

the orthodontist would have better advice than anyone here can give you. but good luck. im 15 and will be entering 10th grade too. i dont think braces, if that is what you end up needing, will kill you socially.
seriously.
but i hope everything works out! ive heard of clear braces as well. with technology theses days, im sure youll find something “doable”
i have tmj temperal madibular joint pain too it sucks yes i know my teeth are already not straight um well i dont know b ut ask your orthodontist im sorry wish i could help i know they make something for that too though its very similar to invisalign
Listen darling, sophomore year is just the beginning of life. Do it now. When you’re in college, in your 20s, high school isnt going to be so important and you will have a perfect smile to boot. I was one of those people that had to get braces at 26! Now that sucked! And I would do anything to go back in time and just deal with it in high school. Don’t use shortcuts, get it fixed the right way while you are still so young.
They have removable, clear braces now.http://www.invisalign.com/generalapp/us/…

why don’t you ask your orthodontist if you can get the invisalign, but also get a retainer for night time? that way, you can wear the invisalign during the day and fix your teeth and wear the retainer at night… i’ve never had an overbite, so this is just a suggestion.
