Yes, many dental insurances will cover a part of your
orthodontic costs. Beware of the waiting periods for
any ortho work though. There are other plans that
will cover orthodontic work without waiting periods too,

Anyone know of any good individual dental insurance plans with orthodontics? I know the coverage for the orthodontics won’t be much but the insurance I have right now is with my husband’s employer and there is no ortho.

Most health insurance plans do not cover orthodontia, but some dental plans do. The amount of the benefit varies greatly from plan to plan.
Your best bet is to speak to human resources or your benefits coordinator and see what your school system offers.

Can You Give Me Information On Orthodontics Insurance?

I need braces very badly. I currently have coverage through my insurance that will cover $1,500 of my $5,700 total cost, leaving me to pay the remainder.
Is there better insurance I can get? Or is this a pretty good amount they are paying? $4,200 out of pocket for braces is just something that I can’t really afford as a working college student. I know I can make payments, but still, thats $175 a month over a 2 year period. I just don’t know if I can afford it. I’m already working full time while going to school full time and am trying to save up for a car so I don’t have to ride my bike all the time or take the bus.
Is this average? Do you have any information about orthodontics and insurance you could give me?

My daughter has to have some orthodontic work done (a widening appliance to widen her top jaw, then a face mask to correct her underbite), and of course, the plan I have through work covers nothing. I recently had a consult at an orthodontist’s office and they quoted me 5-6 g’s. I can’t afford this is anyone aware of any insurance companies that cover orthodontic work? I do not have employer coverage for any benefits.

Orthodontic therapy can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal using the control and modification of facial growth. In the latter case it is better defined as "dentofacial orthopedics". Orthodontic therapy can be carried out for purely aesthetic reasons with regards to improving the general appearance of patients' teeth. Nevertheless, you will find orthodontists who work on reconstructing the whole face rather than focusing exclusively on teeth. Therapy is also frequently prescribed for practical reasons for example providing the patient having a functionally improved bite (occlusion).
