Orthodontics Defined
Orthodontics may be the specialty of dentistry that's concerned using the study and treatment of malocclusion (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. Orthodontic therapy can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal using the control and modification of facial growth. In the latter case it is better defined as "dentofacial orthopedics". Orthodontic therapy can be carried out for purely aesthetic reasons with regards to improving the general appearance of patients' teeth. Nevertheless, you will find orthodontists who work on reconstructing the whole face rather than focusing exclusively on teeth. Therapy is also frequently prescribed for practical reasons for example providing the patient having a functionally improved bite (occlusion).
Most offices have their own payment plan without charging you any interest. You will have to give a down payment. The bigger the down payment, the less you will have to give monthly. Other offices have a 3rd party administrator, like OFP. They pay your ortho in full and you make payments, with interest, to the plan.
Our ortho office looked at what your insurance covers and then subtracts that from the total bill. The portion that was left was what we had to pay and then set up a payment plan for us and we got a bill each month for the agreed upon amount and I paid it each month just like other monthly bills.
My experience is that it’s just through the office. Or use credit card to pay.
Dearly.
It really depends on your dentist. I have dental benefits for $11.95 a month that cover Ortho treament. Its $2,250.00 going through them for braces. Check em out if you can save some money with them or your credit is a problem
Don’t be nervous. My insurance only covers $500.I am also going in for my first appointment.I am a single mom and college student. With all my student loans my credit isn’t too good. I went to http://www.carecredit.com. It was one of the finance companies the doctor listed. They gave me $1500. I can use that as a down payment and add more of my money also as a down payment so my monthly bill is low.It will work out for you.I’ve been planning to get braces for years.
When I had my braces, the payments were through their office and I could do monthly or every 3 months. I would suggest doing it monthly because it may be harder to come up with 3 months of payment all at one time. My office was very nice and didn’t really worry about if my payment was late just as long as I payed it. You just need to be up front and honest about your financial situation because they will work with you.
