Continue to work hard in high school, taking as many extra math and science classes that you can fit into your schedule (even as electives).
When in college, consider going pre-med or biology, chemistry, bio-chem, etc… whatever you are interested in, as long as you can get the necessary “pre-med” classes. You can also major in history or buisness too, as long as you take the pre-med classes along the way (I had a friend who did this: was a psych major, took the pre-med classes, and is now in medical school to become a psychiatrist).
Once you take the classes, you can then take the med-school entrance exam and start applying to dental schools. You will need to take the MCAT and there are various ways to prep for this, mainly by taking the necessary background courses. You can also take study programs from places such as Kaplan, etc.
    Good luck!

  2. take science courses, especially biology and anything that will get you ready for medical school, of which dental school is a type. Orthodontics is pricey because orthodontists are highly (over?) trained medical professionals. A plumber could do the job just fine with the right training, but we prefer to overpay our medical personnel in this country, resulting in out-of-sight costs and a lot of people who can’t afford it.

Start volunteering or shadowing at a dental office or dental clinic. Major in biology or whatever the dental plan major is at the university that you choose to go to. Get as much hands on experience as possible. I know this because I work at a health care clinic and I have volunteers that come through all of the time. Many use employees or the dentists that we use to write letters of reccomendation. Others want to let the dentists know who they are so that when they graduate they might get hired on. Good Luck
