ok, so my parents are hard working immigrants that moved to Canada and our life wasn’t always smooth through out my childhood, especially now where i really need braces and just recently entered my freshman year. My parents just called my dad’s insurance or w.e its called and they don’t cover for orthodontics, only dentist care, so now my parents can’t pay for braces. Anything that the government can do to help, or how my parents can get braces off reduced, any links, sites, phone numbers?? I have 3 other brothers and only my dad works should i should qualify for ANYTHING, and my teeth are very crooked.

Im thinking of orthodontics as a career choice… I know its TONS of schooling but besides that I just wanted to know what is most rewarding thing about it? what is the most difficult thing about it? what kind of general salary should I expect? have you ever regreted becoming an orthodontist? THANKS

Just curious. My treatment is just under 2 years total in orthodontics. It’s costing me over $11,000 for braces alone(no insurance so I’ve been paying cash). Is this typical or am I being overcharged?

Me and my mom went to the nearest Orthodontist and they said the price was about 4600$(No Taxes, No Interest, and this included X Rays and Retainers) that is before Insurance,
And i live in Canada, should i go around look for better or cheaper Orthodontist?
And he kept telling us how hes a professor himself at the local university teaching Orthodontics, and hes been in the profession for about 20 years.
Yeah just some opinions please.

I am getting braces and have questions. Do braces hurt? Do they feel weird? How much do they cost with insurance? How long will they be on if I have a overbite and a slight gap in my teeth? And say how many visits do you take to the orthodontics and does tightening your braces hurt? Also will it pay off?

Here’s the third paragraph….. Could you check it please?
Insurance coverage is not enough to pay for medical attention. A person can be paying her or his insurance mostly; but coverage is not enough to pay for a doctor appointment. In some cases, insurance companies do not want to cover most of the medical attention provided by doctors or hospitals. My mother went to the dentist six months ago to seek treatment for a toothache. After several exams, the doctor discovered that she needed three orthodontics. The final cost for her treatment was calculated to be seven thousand dollars; she did not have the option and went to our country (El Salvador) and received the same treatment for only seven hundred dollars. Is it necessary to go to another country to do this?
I do not want to suggest that they should have to pay for our illnesses, but medical service providers and insurance companies have to be in agreement to provide high quality medical service with affordable costs.

I’m thinking about getting Invisalign in place of traditional braces. I was quoted $7500 total for them.
This is a lot of money and my insurance does not cover orthodontics.
With that said, I expect them to work and work well. I plan on wearing them the required 22 hours out of the day and following all recommendations perfectly.
My questions are for people who have worn Invasalign only, please:
-Are you satisified with your results?
-Was it worth the money?
-If you could do it over, would you opt for traditional braces as they are said to work better.
-Were they painful?

Hi I need a little help with a braces situation. See my parents are divorced me and my sis live with my mom in Florida but spend summers with our dad in New York. I was just wondering if I could have my braces put on in New York but have them checked up and taken off in florida? (our insurance doesn’t cover orthodontics in florida.)
