Orthodontics Defined
Orthodontics may be the specialty of dentistry that's concerned using the study and treatment of malocclusion (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. Orthodontic therapy can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal using the control and modification of facial growth. In the latter case it is better defined as "dentofacial orthopedics". Orthodontic therapy can be carried out for purely aesthetic reasons with regards to improving the general appearance of patients' teeth. Nevertheless, you will find orthodontists who work on reconstructing the whole face rather than focusing exclusively on teeth. Therapy is also frequently prescribed for practical reasons for example providing the patient having a functionally improved bite (occlusion).
Don’t worry so much about what you look like obviously you’re pretty enough to be a model so braces will loook just fine on you I’m sure of it. But if you’re that worried maybe you could tak to your parents and orthadontist about something called “Lingual Braces.” These are braces that go on the inside of your teeth so they are invisible to other people. Good Luck!
PS: expect them to hurt I just got them on today ouch take some pain meds before
Why would he give you braces if the problem is with your jaw?
OK anyways, i’ve had braces before and heres what i have to say-
After putting up with them for two years, when you get them off, you WILL have the nicest smile on the runway, no doubt about it.
I don’t really see how it could “Ruin” a carreer but, i do see how it can put major stress on you. I wouldn’t worry about it so much. Ask your parents if it will mess up your runway status. Although i highly doubt it.
I wouldn’t be sad, just think. After your deadline, you will have the best smile around!!
I do!
You will too!! =D
Check w/ your orthodontist. There are clear brackets which can be used. They might be a little more money, but it’s another option. They are in “invisible”, but less “in your face”. It will go by fast and really, having straighter teeth can do nothing more than enhance your career.
Good luck!!
i totally feel your pain. im about to turn 15 and ive had braces since i was 13. My best advice would be to be really cautious not to brake brackets and to brush really well consistantly. and try to book some runway shows rather than pictures. plus tell people you might take pictures for that your still fierce with your mouth closed
Ur only 13 they expect you to have braces. I had problems with my jaw (nothing noticeable) and had braces and my jaw still feels out of line. Braces sucked and didnt even do anything but make my top teeth perfectly straight.
it should be fine smile with your mouth close or do dental commercials, etc I’m 14 I’m getting my braces in 2 weeks i model alot and i wanted invisalign but couldn’t get them good luck try to work something out with your agency or maybe focus on runway shoes!!
He’s right about the invisalign. I asked about it too. Just get them and continue to model. You don’t always have to model with a smile. There are other ways. I hoped I helped
talk to other orthodontists.
they’re other options out there, and you can definitely call into any office and just ask.
doesn’t mean that you have to GO there, but it doesn’t hurt to find out.
Probably look for another occupation that interests you. If you’re worried that much, than maybe you should quit.
well you became a model with messed up teeth so you can be a model in the mix of getting your teeth perfect.
well with crooked teeth Im sure you werent a model, and having straight teeth can only better your chances. so It looks like you dont have a choice
no its actually a good thing cuz in a couple years yull have a nice smile
