Can Anybody Tell Me About The Us Naval Dental Postgraduate School In Bethesda, Maryland?

I want to pursue a degree in orthodontics and apparently i heard about US Navy owning that school/hospital in Maryland. Can anybody tell me about that school? What’s its purpose? Is it actually possible to get a dental degree there? Is it free to US Navy personnel?

Question About Braces…?

I currently reside in the Washington D.C area. Last week my son had a consultation with an orthodontist and the approximation price for ceramic braces was around $8,500. Would this be the average price that other orthodontist would estimate in the D.C. area?
Also, my son had a previous consultation in Virginia Beach. For $5,000 my son could have gotten the invisalign braces. I would imagine that invisalign would be more expencive than alternative braces. Am I correct? Would my son be better off getting ceramic braces in Virginia Beach?
Thanks

I Hate My Braces! Can Someone Please Help.. I Am Worried About My Mental And Physical Condition!?

I am 23 years old, and got braces my teeth 6 months ago. I am supposed to have them on for 2 years. I got the clear ones, but I still feel hideous. I cried constantly for the first two months and began getting panick attacks and getting violently ill. I’ve been to the ER 4 times and hospitalized twice. I was so sick that the doctors thought that I had a life threatening illness. I was put on nausea medication which didn’t really help, and eventually xanax. The xanax made me relax and I am no longer sick. Being so sick made me stop worrying about the braces, and now that I am feeling better I am starting to obsess about them again. I just feel so ugly and I hate them so much that they are making me physically sick again.
My orthodontist said that I can switch to invisalign by the end of the year, but I don’t think that I can take it anymore. If I got them off now I would have wasted $10,000 in surgeries and dental work on my teeth. Can somebody please give me some advice?

I Had Braces About 2 Years Ago And My Teeth Are Starting To Shift Again But Differently…?

i have been weraing my retainer but my mom and i think that he wasn’t all we thought he was. my bottom teeth are more crowded and the two teeth right next to the middle ones are pushing back. if i were to get invisalign what are the chances of my insurance covering most or all of the costs since my first orthodontist didn’t do a good job?

I Have Some Questions About Tongue Piercings..?

Does it hurt?
Does everyone get a lisp?
Did anyone lose their taste?
How much does it swell?
Do you have to take out the bar ever, and if you do, then is it hard or painful to get it back in?
Would it be better to get a plastic ball thing instead of metal?
And also im worried that because im getting braces, well im getting invisalign, but i havent got it yet, will my orthodontist not let me get the invisalign anymore if i get my tongue pierced?
Please help, thanks.

Quick Question About Invisalign, Dr Please?

I am 19, I have been to orthodontist many times, but yea i ddint loose all my baby teeth until i was like 16 and it took them a while to come in. I am actually traveling all the time, and very involved in international business. I will be switching between USA and Brasil very frequently but I do want to get the whole teeth thing straighten before I am much older. I do not want the traditional metal braces, and since money is no barrier for me any kind of treatment would work that will provide the fastest and best results. Doctors are humans and I have read many doctors blogs some say its great, some say its horrible, its like when i am in miami the sun is good for you, get lots, when in NYC stay away it will kill you, so yea I would like a few reliable answers and be informed about any other kinds of treatments, retainers etc.

What Should I Do About My Retainer?

I’m 17 and a senior in high school. I got braces in the 5th grade and they came off in the 8th grade. When they gave me my retainers, the top was Invisalign and the bottom was like a bumper guard. It ended up rotating one of my teeth. I wore them everyday so my dentist told me to take them off and had my orthodontist make me a new set.
So now my retainers are Invisalign yet I see no changes and it’s been well over a year. I still wear them even though the bottom one has somewhat snapped in half from thorough wear.
I’m worried I’ll have to revert back to braces.
What should I do?

Orthodontist Cost – Is $6000 Very High Or About Right For Adults?

I had my consultation at an orthodontist this past week, and the plan is to put regular braces on the bottom teeth, and maybe invisalign or maybe regular braces on the top teeth. It is not bad like a lot of spacing or torqued teeth, just crowded. And I am an adult. They told me cost for adult is between $6000-$7000 – it would come out around $6300. I was prepared to hear maybe $4000, but was shocked at this price. Anybody have experience with same situation and can advise me about this price? Thanks! :)

Question About Insurance Covering Dental Procedures? Please Answer!!?

My insurance covered my orthodontics as a teen.
They covered all routine dental work.
They covered a procedure in which I had a baby tooth pulled, because there was no adult tooth underneath.
They paid for the retainer that I had to wear in order to prepare my mouth for the eventual ‘fake tooth’ that would be installed in the ‘hole’.
They now say that they will not pay for the procedure in which the fake tooth will actually *be* installed, nor for any related lab tests and referrals, calling it a ‘cosmetic procedure’.
What the h*ll!!
If this is cosmetic, then what, exactly is orthodontics defined as?
And how about the pulling of the tooth in the first place?
Why will they not pay for the final result?
(any answer appreciated, since I now have a big hole in my mouth, and can’t afford the several-thousand dollars to fix this!)

I’m Starting Invisalign Tomorrow And I’m Concerned About A Possible Wisdom Tooth. Any Help?

Obviously, I’ll be talking to my orthodontist about this, but I’m a little concerned that nothing has been said about it already. I start my invisalign tomorrow, for a 5 month treatment, but over the weekend felt what I’m assuming is a wisdom tooth poking through my gum on the upper-left, back side of my mouth. There is no pain, nor has there been any. About 1 1/2-2 months ago I had panoramic x-rays done for my invisalign and about two-three weeks ago my treatment plan was sent to invisalign for approval/tray creation. At no time has anyone said wisdom teeth are an issue. Also, previous dentists have not told me that its imperative that I have wisdom tooth removal. However, I’ve been reading that wisdom teeth can cause crowding and I’m afraid that if this tooth causes that while I’m doing my invisalign, it will be counterproductive. I’m also thinking that since nobody said there were any problems I’m ok, and that I can just have the tooth removed after my treatment if need be.
