This goes along with the question I asked yesterday. I am a 28 year old who was just told that I really need braces for bite issues that will only get worse without them! As I said in my other question, my husband got very upset when I told him the cost and insisted I not get them here but in his hometown in Mexico. Anyway, I am a health care worker at a hospital and I have a very good dental insurance plan but, they revise every year and unless you change your coverage they only send you a letter saying you are covered under dental. Nothing in detail about the plan unless you decided to change it that year. I kept my coverage that I had last year because it has always been just fine. Well at the Orthodontist office they informed me that my insurance no longer covered adult orthodontics, only children. Now they went up on all the regular dentist benefits and pay 80% of almost all dental procedures, and cover yearly cleanings and, exams and, any x-rays you might need at these appointments. They also cover 50% of things like extractions, root canals and, crowns. All this makes it worth keeping my insurance but, I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that offers insurance that will cover adult orthodontics and at least some of the cost of my braces? I live in South Carolina if that makes a difference. Please any answers would be a big help!

On january 30th i’m going to be in a pageant and I know I really really don’t want braces on that day. And in May it’s my senior prom and I really really don’t want braces on that day either. My mom wants me to get them on now though but I kinda want to wait. I wouldn’t mind getting them on now but I still have that pageant and my senior prom! People are going to say its not that big of a deal but to me braces is a BIG deal! All my life I’ve modeled and been in pageants and that’s why my appearance is so important to me. I know that in the end it’ll all be worth it but i don’t know… Having braces on for my two years of modeling and doing pageants and my senior prom will kill me.. And my orthodontist already said that invisalign isn’t an option.

Has anyone had both lingual braces and a pallete exapnder? I went to one orthodontist and he said invisalign was out of the question because of the pallete exapander and also because invisalign cannot twist eye teeth. However he does not offer lingual braces so he had no remarks on that, and wanted me to get the work done with him so suggested classis braces.

i have been weraing my retainer but my mom and i think that he wasn’t all we thought he was. my bottom teeth are more crowded and the two teeth right next to the middle ones are pushing back. if i were to get invisalign what are the chances of my insurance covering most or all of the costs since my first orthodontist didn’t do a good job?

O.K., I am 13 years old. I am a model and I just got braces. I’m afraid having braces will ruin my career as a model. I asked my orthodontist about Invisalign, but he said I was not a candidate because most of my problems are with my jaw. Is there anything else I can do? I am seriously upset and sad, and angry!

I want to get my 9 year old invisalign braces, are they expensive? I have blue cross/blue shield and state aid. I am a single parent and willing to work as hard as I have to to get her teeth straight and the gp in the front closed (she has her adult teeth and the gap is still huge). Are they expensive? Does insurance cover some of the cost? Do I need a referral to and orthodontist? My dentist doesn’t seem to care about my concern for my daughters teeth and my concerns regarding the spaces and crookedness.

I’m 15 years old, and after seeing two orthodontists, they both said I have an overbite. Therefore if I wanted to, I could get braces to fix them. They both unfortunately said I could not get Invisalign. And the orthodontist my parents want to use (if I get braces) only offer the ugly metal ones. I’m not that self-conscious about my smile right now, but the overbite is noticeable. Should I go through with it?

I currently have a dental plan that does not cover braces. I would like to get them before my wedding. I came across Ameriplan USA on the Internet. It seems legit, but some of the reviews are bad. Does anyone know an insurance company that will cover orthodontics?

Orthodontics Defined Orthodontics may be the specialty of dentistry that's concerned using the study and treatment of malocclusion (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. Orthodontic therapy can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal using the control and modification of facial growth. In the latter case it is better defined as "dentofacial orthopedics". Orthodontic therapy can be carried out for purely aesthetic reasons with regards to improving the general appearance of patients' teeth. Nevertheless, you will find orthodontists who work on reconstructing the whole face rather than focusing exclusively on teeth. Therapy is also frequently prescribed for practical reasons for example providing the patient having a functionally improved bite (occlusion).
