im from dewsbury, im 14 years old, and i’m thinking of taking separate sciences-a.k.a(orthodontist) in my school options,
do you know what i”l need to learn more about to achieve that?
And also where’s the nearest local place from dewsbury that i can study about orthodontics?
and could you please tell me which specific science will you need to go onto orthodontics? thankyou!!!

I had my consultation at an orthodontist this past week, and the plan is to put regular braces on the bottom teeth, and maybe invisalign or maybe regular braces on the top teeth. It is not bad like a lot of spacing or torqued teeth, just crowded. And I am an adult. They told me cost for adult is between $6000-$7000 – it would come out around $6300. I was prepared to hear maybe $4000, but was shocked at this price. Anybody have experience with same situation and can advise me about this price? Thanks!

I’ve gone through the whole process, braces on bottom and invisalign on top, and was down to wearing my retainers nightly when I lost the top one a few months ago. I would like to find an orthodontist willing to give me a few months of invisalign retainers to put my top teeth back in place without charging an arm and a leg for a whole new treatment plan. Please let me know of anyone! fYI I have new insurance so I have a new $1000 lifetime max contribution available to me.

my dentist reccomended that i get braces or invisalign(after he found out i wasnt fond of braces)
my teeth were “crowded” and i had an overbite….so im a candidate for invisalign.
but he said i have to go to an ORTHODONTIST!
my worry is……even if my teeth are aligned after i use this method..the shape of my teeth will still be “rigid” and “uneven”
do orthodontists do some cosmetic bonding or do i have to go back to a cosmetic dentist?
that would be a hassle

When do you take the DAT? When do you take the National Board or do you not have to take it? Also, what should you do after dental school? I read somewhere that you should take a Science of Orthodontics course but I read somewhere else that you should do residency? I don’t know. Also, do you need to take the College of Dentists Board examination? Sorry, a lot of questions but I really need to know. Thank you for reading and answering [:

Hi im 25 and am currently thinking about getting invisalign. I went to the orthodontist and he said i was a good candidate and right at the end i asked him “will i need to have any extractions?” and he said “yes, one of the front bottom teeth”. I was a bit in shock because i’ve seen other cases of crowding like mine on websites that didnt need extractions and just the thought of removing a healthy tooth kills me. Im going to go back next time and ask him if i could not do the extraction and just do a bit more filing…or maybe i could get normal wire braces on the bottom teeth if that means i could keep that tooth. My bite is fine its just the crookedness appearance i want to fix. Heres a pic of my teeth, if you have any advice for me. All places, even dentists offices can do it, a few places I know of are Grand Dental in Franklin Park, Dr. Kevin McCoy in the city, or Glen Ganser in Elmwood Park. Be prepared to shell out at least $7K. This is great for straightening, not aligning or moving of the jaw.
