Hi guys. Am entering my last year in Secondary School -high school- and i know what i would like to study when i finish school, orthodontics.
I would like to become an orthodontist.
My question is; Do you have to study dentistry and THEN orthodontics, Or would i be able just to study orthodontics and NOT dentistry to become an orthodontist?

ive asked like a million retainer questions, but here goes. i wear top and bottom clear retainers (like invisalign) and the edge is long and curls out in some places, like behind my top left molars. can i trim them and with what? what precautions should i take? thank you much.

ok so ive had braces for like 9 months and i have the ceramic clear 1s but i rly want 2 switch 2 invisalign. is it possible to switch orthodontists or do you have to stay with the same one because of the payments?

I am 21, i started getting my invisalign when i was about 19 or 20, im only on my 13th one due to the fact that i had to go live in florida for a year or two to take care of my grandmother while she was sick. So therefore i havent been able to go see my ortho or get any new sets since ( it was very short notice soon as we got the call i flew down there and wasnt planned but lived there until now). my question is, will i have to pay for new sets and get measured and all of that again from the start and would you or would he still even have my sets ?everything was paid for already from the start of this by the way, just want to know what im in for when i give him a call after the holidays. Thank you

suggested sth that wasnt in my mind. Only the dentist suggested sth exactly what I was looking for. Has anyone got braces or invisalign from a normal dentist instead of an ortho?
My case: my teeth are not probably aligned in middle (so the mid line is shifted to the left a bit). so long time ago I was already thinking the right way is to pull a pair of teeth in the right hand side. Both ortho said they must pull 2 pairs from both L and R so that its balanced (which I think they are just too rigid). they both even said that they wont do invisalign coz my case needs to pull some teeth. While this dentist just said things that are totally in my mind! and he said invisalign works… the only concern is that he’s not an ortho! I have a fd who was treated by him(mild case) and was successful and he has over 20 yrs experience…

There’s this tool.. that is like a modified tweezer that orthodontists use to create a bump in a retainer/invisalign. It allows the orthodontist to have more control on where extra pressure is desired. What is this tool called? Can I order it online somewhere?
