This year we’ve been extra cautious about attendance, only missing two days for the flu which was excused, and dental appointments. But yesterday I recieved a summons to court for attendence.
After getting to the bottom of things, apparently my kid stopped going to her last period class and instead was in another class as a teachers aid.
All along, absences were piling up from the other class, but nobody from the school informed me, even when they had the chance to when I would call attendance to report we were sick with flu or that I was picking up my kid for orthodontics and dental appointments.
This had been going on for 12 straight school days with nobody seemingly being concerned enough until it was time to turn it over to the law to so much as call me.
Now I’ve learned that it wasn’t my kid’s idea but a friend of hers to go work as a teachers aid in another class. This friend did not recieve any discipline because she was best friends with a girl who is one of the vice principal’s daughters.
I feel strongly that my daughter’s teacher purposefully allowed the build up of absences.
I also feel that the teacher who was using my daughter as a teacher’s aid also disregarded her responsibilty to at least know who her aids were, and if they were permitted to do this.
Also the assistant principle’s pulling of strings for the one girl to “get her off the hook” is inappropriate.
All in all, I’ve become leary of these people now. After my daughter faces the judge and recieves probation, it will only take one of these people to make one mark and we’ll be hauled back into court for the fine and other possible actions.
Should I call in the state board of education at this point?

Ok, I plan on receiving between $7,000 and 10,000 from a sold car.
The surgery I need costs between 20k-30k with orthodontics, I would like to start the surgery as soon as people…how might I speed things up?
As a impoverished college student, I don’t qualify for a loan because I don’t have an income , and I’m still waiting to see if the insurance will cover part of the surgery, though it is highly unlikely. I’m in a lot of pain and have difficulties sleeping and speaking, so this is not a vanity pursuit if any of you are curious.
Is there a legal way I can negotiate this with the surgeon? He seems very reasonable and understanding, but I don’t think he’ll waive 20 grande. Is there some sort of payment plan I can get on that doesn’t require an income?

OK i know there’s plenty of questions on here about this already, some are similar but not the same, and i want to add more detail
ok so all my teeth are straight apart from the left front tooth, the bottom edge of it is stuck behind the right front tooth, by a tinyyyyyy bit , i reckon it could be simple to fix because i can stick my thumb nail in the gap and pull the tooth out from behind and my teeth look straight then but it just moves back behind it, which is so annoying,it looks like it was meant to be straight but missed out by a tiny bit,
ive been doing loads of research on ways to fix it, braces, inman aligner, invisalign, dentures and all that but i don’t think it’s serious enough that i’d need some sort of brace? i know about ’shaving’ teeth at the bottom but can they do it from the side of the tooth so the tooth can come through, or is it now going to need some sort of pressure to push it forward? i know it sounds stupid and not worth fixing but it makes me really insecure and im shy enough as it is! and even tho people reckon they dont notice it, i do. im 18 ,19 next month, i know no orthodontist work is NOT free on the nhs no matter what, so im willing to pay watever, if anyone knows a price range ? thanks! and sorry for the longggg question x

okay, so im 15, and i got braces about a year ago. it was strictly cosmetic reasons, and they werent bad at all in the first place; i just had a slight overbite. my orthodontist said, “were looking at about 12-14 months.” and i agreed to it. well; since ive had them on, there hasnt been any change at all, as many people who are close to me have also noticed. so i go in November, and he says, ok, were looking good. you should be getting them off december after this. so im like, what? im supposed to be getting them off in january ! and he said you must be mistaken.. um, trust me, i wouldnt have agreed if i had known it would be over a year? is it unreasonable for me to ask that they be taken off now, and find an alternative such as invisalign, or a retainer?? thanks.

I had braces 2 years ago. My teeth were perfect when I got them off. The retainer I got was fucked up when I got it and made my teeth more crooked. My orthodontist wouldn’t give me a new one so I smashed it so he would have to give me a new one. It fit. I lost it near the beginning of the new year. My front left tooth has gradually become noticeably crooked, kinda turned outward. I haven’t been able to go to the orthodontist yet but I’m getting a molding done for a retainer next Tuesday. Is there anything I can do to fix the crooked tooth? Maybe one or two invisalign retainers (how much do you think that would cost)? I can’t do braces again. Not because I am embarassed by them. Because that would be way too expensive to just fix one tooth (most of braces price are hardware, not how long you’ll have them) but invisalign is more about how many sets of aligner things you have to have right? Any suggestions for getting it straight?
